Big Ten Night at US Cellular - Go White Sox

It's that time of year again! Tickets are now on sale for Big Ten Night at U.S. Cellular Field with the Chicago White Sox! This year's game is being held in August and the White Sox will be playing the Cleveland Indians.

Don't forget that this is a competition and last year we beat out all of the other Big Ten schools for the title of most tickets sold. Let's do it again this year! We are selling tickets in two different sections for this game.

The last day to purchase a guarenteed ticket is Mondy July 6. So don't delay and get your order in early! Last year we had many requests for tickets after we were sold out - while we do not ever want to turn anyone away, we are only allowed so many seats. We hope to see you there!

When:     Friday, August 7
                 7:11 p.m.

Where:    U.S. Cellular Field

Cost:     $15 per person for upper deck box
$30 per person for lower deck reserved

During the meeting, we said good-bye to two individuals who have served our Club for the past several years – Jon Simpson, President and George Haettinger, Region 7 Director. The Purdue Club of Chicago says a VERY BIG THANK YOU for your service and we hope you stay involved with us.

Additionally, the new officers were elected and these will be effective July 1, 2009. Join us as we congratulate your new officers!
Michael Shultz, President
Ashley Pedersen, First Vice President
James Rio, Second Vice President
Kyle O’Connor, Treasurer
Rebecca Ramseth, Secretary

Nick Sicker will be our new Region 7 Director and serve on the Board of Directors of Purdue Alumni as our voice on campus. Nick was elected in a separate election held by Purdue Alumni. Congratulations Nick!

Finally, the new Bylaws were adopted which contain very important changes to the membership structure, effective July 1, 2009. All details concerning the membership structure, the new discount program and approved Bylaws will be on the web site by July 1, 2009.

Do not forget...

While having fun, our primary mission throughout the year continues to be a focus on scholarship for out-of-state tuition for area students going to Purdue. If you still plan on giving to Purdue this year, click here to consider designating a part of your gift to the "Purdue Alumni Club Scholarship in Chicago."

And finally, we are excited to now offer new advertising opportunities for Purdue alumni to advertise their companies, practices and services to up to 60,000 Purdue Chicagoland alumni, or to become an event sponsor. These new advertising and sponsorship opportunities will help reduce event pricing for attendees and ensure membership dues are saved for operating expenses while, most importantly, accelerating net proceeds for our General Scholarship Fund, Get additional details.

Remember – we are the FIRST Purdue Alumni Club (yes, started in 1890), so thanks for being Purdue Proud in Chicago!
